EVE Online Hacked

June 14, 2011

In an unexpected move, the online anonymous group known as “The Lulz Boat” claimed on their twitter account to have “wiped out” the login server for Eve Online. In the process of doing so, they claim to off taking down the EveOnline.com server as well.

The Lulz Boat, colloquially known as “lulsec”, has, in past days, targeted several gaming websites, services, and companies like Sony, PBS, Nintendo and Bethesda.

So far we have no information on the motivations or reasons for which the claimed attacks has been launched, the group also claimed attacks on video game site The Escapist Magazine (Those bastards!) and the Minecraft website.

Regarding CCP, they haven’t neither acknowledged or denied LulzSec’s claim.

It’s obvious why they were attacked there name is a pretty obvious hint at why they did it, but i hope they get arrested seeing as from the attack on eve online alone the cost to the players in total is around £250,000 in subscriptions so yeah, those guys need to be popped in jail for 5 years or so to stop other people thinking this is a good idea.
